“The Maid Of Orleans” is one of the great epics of poetry and was written by the Voltaire of modern literature Francua-Mari Arue (1694-1778). The appendix includes a history of the writing and initial publication of the book, when it was prohibited in France, and printed illegally. This edition also includes a history of the translation of the poem into Russian and the fate of the first publications of the poem in Russia in 1924 and in 1935. The entire volume has been redesigned and the text is enriched by a huge commentary and rare engravings by French artists of XVIII century.
